This Week: Make Peace with the Pause

This Week's Soul Vitamins

This week invites you to slow down, allow things to settle, and make space for the wisdom that comes when you stop rushing towards the next thing.

After the intensity of the seasonal threshold of Samhain, we find ourselves in a quieter part of the lunar cycle.

The Moon is waning, gradually moving towards the darkness of next week's Scorpio New Moon. The natural world is following a similar rhythm. Leaves are falling, the days are growing shorter, and the landscape is beginning to settle into its winter stillness.

There is something valuable about this in-between time.

The space after something has ended, but before something new has begun.

We often feel compelled to fill these moments. To make plans, set intentions, find answers, or work out what comes next.

Yet sometimes the most useful thing we can do is allow ourselves a little breathing room.

This week, ask yourself:

What am I still holding onto that feels complete?

Where am I craving more quiet, space, or simplicity?

What might become clearer if I stopped trying to work everything out?

The waning Moon encourages us to release, reflect, and gently bring things to a close.

You might notice that something which felt important a few weeks ago no longer holds the same urgency. A commitment may have run its course. An old worry may be losing its grip. Or perhaps you're simply recognising that you need more rest than you've been allowing yourself.

Listen to those signals, you don't have to fill every moment with purpose, sometimes the pause itself is exactly what you need.

✨ Weekly Focus Prompt:

"This week, I give myself permission to pause, release, and make space for what comes next."

🌘 Waning Moon Ritual – Create Space for Stillness

Let things settle.

  • Light a white, silver, or black candle

  • Find somewhere comfortable to sit without distractions

  • Take a few slow breaths and notice how you're feeling

  • Ask yourself: "What am I ready to stop carrying into the next lunar cycle?"

  • Write down anything that comes to mind, without judging or trying to make sense of it

  • Choose one thing you're ready to release or bring to a close

  • Tear up the paper and say:

"I honour what has been. I release what is complete. I welcome the peace of this moment."

  • Sit quietly for a few minutes, allowing yourself to simply be

Notice how it feels to create space without immediately deciding what should fill it.

🌿 Ally of the Week: Mugwort

Energetics: Intuition | Dreams | Inner Wisdom

Mugwort has a long history of association with dreams, divination, and the quieter realms of intuition.

As the Moon wanes, let it become a symbolic reminder to pay attention to your inner world.

You might keep a drawing or image of mugwort beside your journal, spend time observing it growing in the landscape, or simply reflect on its traditional associations with dreaming and insight.

Allow your dreams, thoughts, and impressions to become invitations for curiosity rather than things you need to interpret immediately.

🕯️ Mini Ritual Challenge – Leave Some Space

This week, experiment with creating small pockets of intentional stillness.

  • Leave ten minutes of your day completely unplanned

  • Take a walk without listening to anything

  • Sit with a warm drink without reaching for your phone

  • Finish one small task that's been lingering

  • Allow yourself an evening without trying to be productive

Notice what happens when you give yourself permission to do a little less.

Sometimes the most meaningful insights arrive when we're no longer searching for them.

📓 In your Magickal Living journal, explore:

  • What am I ready to leave behind as I move towards a new lunar cycle?

  • Where would a little more stillness make a meaningful difference in my life?

  • What have I discovered about myself when I've allowed things to unfold in their own time?

This week, let the waning Moon remind you that every cycle needs a moment of quiet.

A time to gather yourself.
A time to put things down.
A time to listen to what remains when the noise begins to fade.

Make peace with the pause, and trust that you don't have to know what comes next to be exactly where you need to be.
