August: A Month of Harvest, Vision, and Sacred Order

Lammas: 1st August | Full Moon in Aquarius: 9th August | New Moon in Virgo: 23rd August

Theme of the Month: Gratitude, Vision & Grounded Renewal

August is the bridge between fiery summer and the quieting hum of early autumn.

It calls us to celebrate what has ripened, release what no longer nourishes, and plan with intention.

Lammas opens the month with gratitude and offerings; the Aquarius Full Moon sparks radical insight, while Virgo’s New Moon brings structure and sacred order to our dreams.

Moon Phases & Rituals

🌾1st August – Lammas (Lughnasadh)

Ritual: Bread & Blessing

Lammas marks the first harvest festival, an offering of gratitude for the fruits of our labour.

You’ll need:

  • A piece of bread, cake, or seasonal fruit
  • A candle (orange or gold)

Light the candle.

Hold your bread or fruit with both hands.

Say aloud:

“With this harvest, I honour the work done,
I give thanks for all victories, small and great.”

Take one bite or share with others, offering a crumb or slice back to the earth.

♒ 9th August – Full Moon in Aquarius

Ritual: Vision of the Sky
Aquarius invites innovation, detachment, and the courage to dream beyond the ordinary.

You’ll need:

  • A small bowl of water
  • A clear quartz crystal or shiny coin
  • Pen and paper

Place the crystal or coin in the water under the moonlight.

Write down one vision or idea you want to bring into reality.

Say:

“By moon and mind, I see beyond.
I trust my vision; I dream with courage.”

Keep the paper under your pillow for 3 nights.

♍ 23rd August – New Moon in Virgo

Ritual: Sacred Order & Seeds
Virgo asks for clarity, organisation, and quiet power.

You’ll need:

  • A handful of seeds or dried herbs (e.g., rosemary, sage)
  • A white candle
  • A small jar

Light the candle. Whisper one intention into each seed or pinch of herb.

Place them in the jar and say:

“I plant order, I plant grace.
I trust the rhythm, I claim my space.”

Keep the jar on your altar or bury the contents under a tree at the next Full Moon.

🪄 Monthly Spell: The Harvest Knot
Use between 1st–9th August

Take a ribbon or piece of twine (gold or green is ideal).

As you tie 3 knots, say:

“I tie in thanks. I tie in strength.
I tie in blessings for the days to come.”

Hang the ribbon where you’ll see it, as a reminder of your abundance.
