4-Days to Go: Balance and Harmony

As the wheel of the year turns towards the Spring Equinox, we find ourselves at a point of perfect equilibrium.

The Equinox is a time when day and night stand in equal length, offering us a profound moment to reflect on balance and harmony in our own lives.

Celebrating Balance
The Spring Equinox, or Ostara as it's also known, is imbued with themes of renewal, growth, and balance.

It's a time when the earth awakens from its winter slumber, buds burst into bloom, and the animal kingdom stirs once more.

This resurgence of life around us mirrors the internal awakening we might feel, urging us to find harmony within our own being.

Balance is not about striving for perfection or maintaining an unchanging state, but rather about embracing the flow of life, recognising our cycles of rest and activity, and honouring both our light and shadow sides.

The Equinox invites us to explore these dualities and find a point of equilibrium that resonates with our personal rhythm.

Finding Balance Within

To honour the energy of the Equinox, we embark on a journey inward, seeking to align our inner world with the balanced nature of the universe at this special time.

Guided Meditation for Balance
Find a quiet, comfortable space where you can sit or lie down without disturbance.

Light a candle to represent the light of the Equinox, and if you like, place symbols of balance around you, such as stones, flowers, or anything that signifies harmony to you.

Close your eyes and take deep, grounding breaths.

Visualise yourself standing on a day when day and night are of equal length.

Feel this balance extending into your being, stabilising and centring you.

Reflect on areas of your life where balance might be needed.

Visualise bringing these into alignment, feeling a sense of peace and harmony enveloping you.

When you feel ready, gently open your eyes and journal any insights or feelings that arose during your meditation.

Balance-Focused Yoga Sequence or Balancing Exercise:
Choose a series of yoga poses that focus on balance, such as Tree Pose (Vrksasana), Eagle Pose (Garudasana), or simply standing on one foot.

If yoga isn't accessible to you, try standing on one leg, using a chair for support if needed.

As you engage in these balance exercises, focus on the sensation of being both grounded and uplifted.

Notice any areas of tension or ease, and invite harmony into your movements.

Remember, it's not about trying to achieve perfect poise but to connect with the balance within you.

The Spring Equinox, with its perfect balance of day and night, reminds us of the beauty in duality and the importance of finding our own point of harmony within the ever-changing dance of life.

As we move through our activities today, let us carry the energy of balance with us, letting it guide our steps into the burgeoning season ahead.
